Young people who took part in the programme “Protected Home” from the beginning of the project until now:
The number of male and female young individuals who took part during the six full years from the opening of the project is 69.
18 of them were admitted to university and 4 of our students have achieved already a baccalaureate degree (Ivan Dimitrov, Peter Snejhanov, Anni and Yanko).
A good part of the students successfully combine education and part time work.
12 of our young people received our support to complete their high education degree. All of them have a higher degree of self-esteem as a result of their successful acquiring a high school diploma.
26 of our youngsters completed successfully some kind of vocational training and got certificates as cooks, drivers, body guards, etc.
3 of our young ladies created their own families and soon became mothers of wonderful babies.
One of youngsters deliberately and with patience pursued his training as a hair-stylist. He is now practicing in Germany and obviously feels content with the results of his efforts.
Another one has been working for years now in the UK and seems to make a good living.
Many of our former participants are in regular contact with us and come back to events or “just like that”. It seems our project has given them the feeling of a centre - of home.
Most of our youngsters have gone through different stages of their personal growth and social maturing to acquire sustainable working habits. Today they are able to hold to a permanent job position, to show discipline and responsibility for themselves and for their future. Despite the challenges of life, they have become really sociable and capable of carrying a life on their own.
